We are expected again on Wednesday 4 the evening of July, in Germany this time, Kehl. Strasbourg, there is only one bridge to cross to cross the border.

Belfort

Before arriving there we drive through the Doubs, crossing pretty villages set on the river, the large sloping roofs and steeples decker dome covered with glazed tiles. Stop emptying the nautical base of Montbéliard (as what areas of free services are not very complicated to install !) and we continue to Belfort. We do a short tour in the city, where the Tour de France will soon begin its eighth stage under the watchful eyes of the lion of Belfort (sorry, I missed a photo, but it remains our friend Gogol for those who do not know !).

Germany

Une pause repas et nous changeons de région : storks, colorful houses and timber-framed, white grape vines, noms de villes et villages à consonances allemande : here we are in Alsace. We move away from Hohlandsbourg Koeningsbourg and finally cross the Rhine and discover Kehl. This is also installed on the river border that we will eat together with our French expatriate friend.

Ittenheim

Thursday we waltz with the Franco-German border after a short tourist trip in Strasbourg. The emphasis here and change the mentality also a priori ! The people are friendly, smiling and surely honest as demonstrated by a small area off, where we have lunch, and on which flowers are counter… Cut your flowers, comptez-les et glissez la monnaie dans la boîte !

Old steel plant, Saarbrücken

Lorraine joins the regions we traversed with TNT. Danne and Four Wind, Phalsbourg, Sarralbe… on the Saar to Germany we follow through Saarbrücken. In the late afternoon, it so happens that we stopped for the night in Luckau, thought for some members of my family from the west, puisque cette ville allemande est jumelée avec Saint-Médard-en-Jalles !

Grand Ducal Palace

Friday 6, Luxembourg day, requires passing when we are not far, histoire de faire un plein quasiment à moitié prix et d’acheter du tabac à environ un quart du prix français ! A quick tour of the eponymous capital and we head north to spend the night in Belgium Melen. Tomorrow, les Pays-Bas !
