Direction counter M Jetstar Asia where employees arrive late for baggage check. Fortunately it seems to be rapidly until it came our turn. One minute, then two, the lady did not speak to us and pats on his keyboard with annoyed, holding my passport in his hands it passes several times in his machine. Leaving us in the most complete mystery, she gets up and goes to one of his colleagues before asking us to change lanes. The man eventually explain it simply two Claire recorded with two different destinations. I confirm my call and my final destination, but we still need a good ten minutes and a phone call that he manages to resolve the concern ! It saves Ronald, and our luggage to our relief, we will be well on the flight 3K 688.

We spend our last ringgit regaling us into a restaurant chain Secret Recipes (54RM – 13,5€) and buying a souvenir for our future guests. We spend a first control, perhaps already a little tired, because customs remind us laughing while we head to the escalator that rises towards us as we descend ! A second control where our passports were adorned with the output of the Malaysian territory visas, then a shuttle brings us to our gate where a little more control we expected. If Jetstar Asia is a low-cost airline, the hostesses are extremely friendly and one of them leads us to our room number 25 – if we lose on the plane, sorry I could not help myself, since I have seen sketch Gad Elmaleh (00:25-00:55s) In this regard I want to laugh every time !

21H25 : hour flight ahead of us, hardly time to get rid of our latest Malaysian coins by purchasing a tea and a chocolate that we have not completed when the pilot announced that we'll be landing in Singapore with an advance of fifteen minutes of schedule. As we prepare to leave the plane we realize that we have a ticket where he is registered Kuala Lumpur – Singapore while for our first flights we had both tickets. Singapore is only a very short stop as was Dubai. The hostess reassured us by explaining that we have to go to the transfer desk. We take our time to get there as it is not less than four hours that we spend in transit at Changi Airport in Singapore.

Meanwhile the new recording, we talk with Richard, an Australian who greets us in the queue, time passes faster when he talks about the Philippines, where he settled with his wife and children, alternating twenty-eight days working in Australia and twenty eight days off at home. Once registered, we breathe the air of Singapore to an outdoor bar, Discussing this time with a couple of Belgium living in the USA, then with another Richard from Perth and a woman working for Doctors Without Borders.

It is 2 am local time when we embark on a new aircraft to Jetstar Asia, where we have the pleasant surprise to receive a voucher 10 Singaporean dollars as Qantas customers for consumption : a drink and a sandwich before we try to sleep during the five and a half hour flight.

Before landing we meet the two forms for customs – not, we are not hit by Ebola ; but yes we transport drugs and tobacco. If I have any concern with my three-month treatment of Levothyrox, pot two hundred grams of tobacco does not pass ! We misinformed or authorized weight has changed since the customs – fortunately friendly – explains that only fifty grams are possible. Only as the pot is already open, it can not accept that Ronald fulfills its small package ! The excess can go through customs if Ronald pay the above fees… 85 dollars ! He reluctantly abandons pot – Revenue Luxembourg for not even five euros – et nous entrons sur le territoire de l’Australie Occidentale. 😀

Westpac at Saint Georges Terrace (pour papy !)

I also take appointment at Westpac, Australian bank, to validate the opening of a bank account – for those interested in the Working Holiday Visa, more details to come.

After Malaysia we open eyes seeing prices, which for some are even more expensive than in France, three dollars a bus ticket or more than six dollars a kilo of oranges. Even avoiding the IGA – supermarkets neighborhoods – known to be expensive and going to Woolworths – equivalent of our stores – so strongly the other states of Australia (Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland for now) where the chain German brothers was implanted : I named Aldi !

On Scarborough Beach

The last surprise, this is far from preventing us from enjoying the hometown of Ronald ! Tuesday night our friends take us to Scarborough Beach where after a fish & chips – fish and chips – we look, in music, the sunset on the beach.

Billiards in Wembley

The evening ends billiards corner then it will be relaxing for the last day, enjoying a short stroll to Herdsman Lake and the small pool of the residence. (The photo in question is as much for the beautiful and large inflatable Australian tap that to send some heat ! 😉 )

Automatic Luggage

Our brief but pleasant stay in Western Australia ends, Bryce drops us at a very early Thursday morning bus stop for us to go to the Perth Domestic Airport. Here we find the automatic baggage check, more hostesses, we do everything ourselves, suddenly we can change our seats on the plane and pick near the window !

Right here, dans ma région canadienne, le mercure oscille entre – 15 and -35 degrés Celsius depuis 1 semaine.

  6. Like I said I do not know where : we travel and share the moment before sharing with those more distant ! I must say that I spend much time on the computer to write and lay out the items after sorting and selected photos. I may be a little rusty also because it was a few months we were sedentary… Oh and Ronald takes pictures as now (we took the SLR and compact), dual working !
