After a Malaysian breakfast pastries – New this morning are the bread rice and raisins and a brioche Kaya, confiture de lait de coco ou coconut egg jam comme nous l’explique Joyce – nous profitons une dernière fois de notre scooter Honda pour nous rendre un peu plus au Nord à la fish farm – fish – Boon.
Actually fish farm, these are just nets stretched between wooden piers. To show us his fish, Boon stirred some small dead fish (sardines, flying fish, etc.) to the surface of the water, soon a little more than a dozen big fish flock. They should do well in the forty inches long, perhaps more. He commanded us to feed ourselves, what we do but a little further than he, is that they have still looks impressive his fish, I will not want to leave a finger !
That's all for the last sightseeing, we return to enjoy the air conditioning in the room a few moments because the day is hot. After great goodbye with Joyce we go back to thirteen hours on the small ferry that links with the mainland. Our single ticket is valid for return and twenty minutes later we arrived in Lumut. We head to the counter of Arwana company to book bus tickets (56,20RM – 14€) we believe to be at two o'clock, it will be fifteen hours… The better we will have time to eat. Next to the bus station are plenty of small restaurants in the wake of each other but only offering dishes that seem to be spicy. Monsieur part en reconnaissance et nous mangerons très européen puisqu’il revient avec deux pizzas.
Fifteen hours spent, we are to see the delay of the bus when a lady asked in English if we are France. When we respond positively, she goes on asking if we have not forgotten passport. Thinking she comes buses counters we respond that not… Jusqu’à ce qu’elle m’appelle par mon prénom.
And here I am small bulb that lights up the back of my brain – qui devait donc être bien éteinte avant 😮 – I forgot my passport on the island ! Not wanting to take her out and about in the jungle and elsewhere, I removed my wallet to slip under the blanket of extra bed that was in our room. He wisely stayed until it was discovered during the cleaning of the room – which proves that Pangkor Guesthouse SPK cleaned even sheet of unused beds, good point for hygiene ! 😀
Forced to change the bus schedule (14RM) for one to eighteen hours, the lady who found me with me at the counter and quickly explained the situation and she recalls the island to see if my passport can be given to someone taking the boat. Joyce did not dare give my passport to anyone, here I am to run to the pier to jump on the shuttle from 4:04 p.m. (10RM, my stupidity will cost me six euros in total), with twenty-minute crossing to scold me internally. Approaching SPK I jump on the platform – “yes, yes, SPK village!” 🙂 – and see the ferry back to dock. I approached one of the sailors to explain in three words my case and ask if they can expect, He nods and I took it towards the guest house. Joyce est contente de me revoir et m’explique rapidement qu’elle a essayé de m’envoyer un courriel, and having no other contact, called on all bus counters for someone looking for us. I thank her but can not stay, the boat waiting for me ! It is 4:54 p.m. when I put the foot in Lumut, surely the fastest return of the history of Pangkor. 😀
Le pauvre Monsieur m’attend patiemment dans la chaleur d’aujourd’hui – obviously the late bus arrived when I had to leave. A bus arrives ahead of schedule but with the right number plate. As we prepare to climb the people of the company explains that this is not it and change our plate numbers on tickets.
Do we actually have like tourists or is that the bus in question was not the express KL – because this time we asked – We will never know ! The promised bus finally arrived at nineteen hours and it will take more than five hours to reach Kuala Lumpur ! If we ever have to go back in Malaysia, we make a cross on the Arwana company despite the comfort of their vehicles… Although if their first bus had not been late, get my passport would have been a different story ! !
It is almost an hour in the morning when we arrived at the door of Matahari Lodge where we hear Ashley relief we say that there are still rooms free… The same that we had there four days. Happy to be back to square although we would much stayed a few days in Pangkor !
The day was long – peut-être sa lecture aussi 😉 – but we have taken every event in a relaxed manner and with a smile (well maybe a little tense times) ! 😀
