Last day in Lynwood. Quiet day between Mr.. Big, the latest useful purchases (first aid kit, water, …) and the final preparations (gas refill, repair of the saddle of one of the two bicycles…). We drop off my cousin at the station and meet up with Monsieur's former roommate just for a moment to say goodbye.
Then head north, for a short excursion to the Pinnacles Desert (Desert of the Penitents). We leave quite late and opt for a stop at Yanchep (51km north of Perth), where at night, we end up finding a campsite. The night man, with the good Australian accent gives us a warm welcome and guides us to the pitches caravan park… for 20$ (plus 20$ deposit for toilet keys returned the next day).
The next morning, our breakfast is accompanied by three, four kinds of birds (parrots, crows…), the time we decide on the rest of the day. We leave behind the “Club Capricorn” to go to Yanchep National Park, where we meet Phascolarctos Cinereus (koala) and Macropodidae (kangaroo), in the midst of all kinds of birds.
Then we hit the road again, vers Brand Highway, due north. Three hours in the middle of bush, where we also see kangaroos (but dead on the side of the road, erf…)
We pass east of the Pinnacles and pass them a little (we will see them tomorrow) to find a campsite in Cervantes, a small seaport (257km north of Perth).
“Pinnacles Caravan Park” is by the ocean… (a little more expensive than yesterday : 23$).
