“Couple, mechanical sense : system of parallel forces in opposite directions.” Pierre Baillargeon

Five months of hibernation on the French Riviera in sedentary four walls but also between families, friends, small jobs and big broken trochiter. The mobility of the injured arm and sunny days returning, TNT was taken to the nearest garage where the mechanic confirmed that the rear differential is damaged due to an oil leak by the ball of the right wheel, also damn him. We must change these two parts, The easiest and cheapest hotel after being to change the entire rear deck (the member connecting the two rear wheels, composed of several components such as wheel shafts, the bevel, suspension springs, etc.). This could have been faster and be fine because its supplier had a… Only it was not the right size. And here we are today becoming professionals drive axles whose search for our old model camper is difficult.

I therefore appeal to you readers, au cas où votre garagiste préféré aurait un super réseaux de fournisseurs ou si par le plus grand des hasards il s’avère que vous avez une carcasse de Ford Transit génération MK2 qui traîne au fond du jardin ! 😀

  1. I take note of your post and unfortunately will not be able Thee a great help. Mary had this kind of mishap on his car and his small garage owner could not find the right piece (the car's age being what it is). So I advised her to approach a garage representing the brand and she was able to solve his problem. The problem is further complicated by the need to find the right piece and also in good condition. It certainly still exist should you knock on the right door. I think you've scoured the breaks, the used parts dealers on the net … Try all the same to see at a garage representing the Ford brand. And you have to find in the area because routing can cost the room price. Have you searched on “the good corner” we never know.

Bizzz and good luck because it takes a little time to time.
    Serge.

  2. There you are left with your car problems, !! I hope for you that you will have positive answers your call and you are going to repair your vehicle. I'm sorry but I can you be of any help I can only wish you good luck you need
    Monette
  3. We could borrow the piece on another moving vehicle, neither seen nor known, we are sure that the bridge is good ;-). But we are not thieves and maneuver should not go unnoticed .. I look good in our part of the time .. Ron put a FB ad, that one can rotate .. Good luck ..
  4. hello Serge,

thank you for your message ! You think correctly : we écumons net between breaks, ad sites, occasions, The good corner, etc.. Moreover, it is this last that we had the best contacts. A Meurthe-et-Moselle who had not the right model but helped us a lot to teach us about the details that I write in the article. And a passion which is also the job of Indre-et-Loire and we await news (Now we could send more photos and information) by next week, it has a few bridges in reserve.

Forced to expand to France or even more, following which it and the price, we plan to go by car look the part (it will always be cheaper than a new camper !) or find a reasonably priced carrier.
We have the ability to use a transport network from England but our bridge research there have so far not given much…

    Stay tuned !

  5. Roh Uncle… Whatever we thought about it, not making use of a vehicle in circulation but rather one that rust may be the bottom of a field ! Thank you anyway, we said that word of mouth could possibly run. Otherwise we will try to find the only bridge of nose with adequate differential (the bearing being easy to find), the latter solution is to sell it to pieces and find a new home on wheels… suspense !
  7. I saw breakages often had a website and therefore an email address for contact. Would have you develop a program that scans all websites, retrieves email addresses and sends a message prepared with all the details .. en Bcc/Cci bien sûr 😉
  10. Merci pour la chance souhaitée, nous sommes en train de lister (à la main, pas eu le temps de coder un logiciel Uncle 😉 ) numbers of breakages of the Alpes Maritimes and the Var to call Monday, Now we have enough information to know exactly what we are seeking.
  11. Hello,

sorry to come probably after the battle, but I myself have a CC on Transit MK5(1997) and aft bridge game, sings a lot and so I'm going to fall (as long as it takes until then) review of my differential, for that I planned to buy the parts on transitcenter.fr if my mechanic can not find them or told me a crazy price.
I saw that they had, the same stock, full back deck for MK2, but it costs 400 €…

If we order home, I'll tell you what it's worth.
Good road and your bridge hold until fall (careful anyway, if there is a leak you risk killing your differential, like us !)
  13. Well glad it can serve,
no leakage bridge, or more oil :(, I scan!

    Good trip and happy holidays

  14. We realized we are too late, it is a rear wheel which is gradually covered with oil (it should leak by one of the bearings joints…)
