“Tourists always want to go where there is none.” Sam Ewing

Photo Damrak

While Ronald works hard to Three Sisters Pub, your servant gives one week family holiday in the south-west of France. Aquitaine, an area that we have not yet traveled with TNT (we still crossed fifteen twenty-two !), more precisely the Dordogne (where we lower score because TNT has had only thirty departments). Bowling, ping-pong, tennis, pool and huge meals in a delightful cottage in the countryside run by a welcoming and friendly couple. Around, the caves of Lascaux, Padirac, the town of Terrasson… Do not hesitate to take a ride on their site to possibly plan a vacation there !

Returning to the Netherlands is long (by bus, about twenty hours) but refreshing as I leave behind the 40 degrees that fell in western France ! Life takes its course up there, Ronald is still working and I'm looking for… and finds ! I made contact with French families and starts to keep bits of one to six years. As it does not take up all my time I am granted tourist days to take some pictures of Amsterdam just for you readers !

Starting from the central station back on the Damrak in turning around the building of the Amsterdam stock exchange which is quite impressive and changes appearance depending on which side you look !

Then we arrive at the Dam Square where the national monument of the same name throne (they Dam !), around the Royal Palace (which does not live the queen !), New Church… It is a place always busy, at the edge of old Amsterdam.

Behind, Magna Plaza-like monument but that hides malls ; at the corner of a small street, embedded on the wall, the old houses Arms…

The Three Sisters Pub

Towards the end of August, a very nice event takes place in Amsterdam they call Uit Markt. The city comes alive once again time for a weekend to present the cultural season of the year ahead. And Amsterdammers do that in large, they do not just distribute flys or make poster campaigns, rather they are in the equivalent of a trailer size and you can attend outdoor shows different extracts provided !

  1. Thank you to the blue sky, it is timely.
Why the pub is called the 3 Sisters ?
