“The cabin is a grisement cell.” Sylvain Tesson

host second

The first days at our new host are animated as it hosts four guys working for him Wujal Wujal, but Tuesday 16 June we are all alone ! Workers have completed the roof and returned to Cairns, as our host it must be absent for the week and says his house. The latter is built high on a hill overlooking the river, its large wooden terrace is pleasant, giving the impression of being in a cabin stuck between the branches of nearby trees. We fall asleep with views of the night sky and we awoke with the first rays of sunlight piercing through the branches, shining off the green hills of the rainforest. We can observe at leisure different birds come and go : Dove Cape, sulphur-crested cockatoo - to the loud squawking little pleasant, Rainbow Bee-eater - tiny, Nice and fast, friarbird helmeted - which always seems to ask permission before eating a seafood on the terrace, noisy miner - shy but not so noisy...

Mantis

I could identify with the excellent book Wildlife of Tropical North Queensland published by the Queensland Museum, I found in the library. If I don't have all these volatile image, I however managed to picture one of the snakes we meet several times in the House : on the terrace, on the wall next to the House and the last, a little mixed with the sons of the radio ! This is probably a tree snake ; It makes me think that our previous guests HelpX had given us the name of the first we met at home : vinoth-grey snake, Again I have not found a French translation, its scientific name is Stegonotus cucullatus, which is enough for us to know that it is harmless.
On the other photograph, the praying mantis that was good eight centimeters, looked me in the corner of my eye while I was shooting his portrait. I hope she ate all full of bugs, particularly vicious little that we can not see but feel the presence because you are suddenly going to scratch around !

View from the terrace

When we do not simply take advantage of the quiet life on the banks of River Bloomfield, we occupy our days between painting, arrangement, cleaning, repairs, gardening ... While continuing to participate in local life in our own way : Yoga Tuesday and Thursday, Willy music in musical jam on Wednesday and on Sunday afternoon at the excellent Blooms Cafe Ayton.

What a treat : food, binouzes and other natural delights daily, at home Leon, Bloomfield I remember you !

A bit sad (oh no more sadness) to leave but life on the road is not too otherwise we would still hang installed in Tasmania and I still look forward to seeing the fruit of my body in a few months, j’arriiiiive petit 🙂

Yes you as friends ...

Willy thank you, James, Stewie, Patrick and girls to these memorable jams and new songs I've learned with you. Love.

En rentrant, il faudra que ton blog tu en fasses un livre .. je veux bien t’en sponsoriser une partie .. Avec la qualité des écrits et des photos cela mérite d’être couché sur une autre toile ..
    Take care ..

  4. The advantage and disadvantage of Australia are the temperatures between day and night change drastically ! If the night brings freshness and morning heats, the body sometimes has difficulty adjusting to 20 °, 30Degrees of difference in a few hours.
  5. Articles are coming late because the internet in central Australia is not as easy as on the East Coast but has promising outback landscapes !
  6. Non mais nous allons en voir des boules ! 😀 A venir bientôt les billes du diable😉
  7. Je laisse le droit de réponse au rédacteur concerné

Quant à ces deux premières expériences HelpX, nous en gardons un superbe souvenir. Maybe I'll take the letter and I take it back Britta and Nick in France. 😉

Britta who, with you, is one of the few people who have asked me why I was not writing a book, to dig… 🙂
