The end of our homebody pension more or less coincided with the return of our home on wheels. Because yes I left you without news for two months but after days hanging on the telephone, trying to find the famous bridge breakages in all of our department and its neighbors, it is ultimately the Lorgues hotel that reminds us to tell us that he found a… in the garage next door ! Verification measures and bridge installed mid-May with a bill of € 800 for buying and labor.

Quelques recherches sur Internet nous font découvrir notre nouveau site marchand préféré : Motomobil, a German company specialized in spare parts for Ford vehicles to years 1957 !

Lack of luck, we come across a very picky and TNT controller fails the inspection of six points that we deal fairly quickly in June, enjoying a stay in our farmer friend of La Roquette-sur-Siagne : loose connection to the rear lights, removal of yellow bulbs of the front lights, right wing bumper commissioned on Motomobil and a horn, passenger seat and handbrake linkage reattached. We also redoing the cell seal, following the advice of a passerby who said we have resolved this problem on his mobile home by installing the calandrite – tar roller covered with aluminum foil – rooftop. So it is not very aesthetic but effective, not too complicated to apply and all at a reasonable price – about 40 euros the roll 10 meters.

If since purchase 2010 TNT runs like clockwork – with one big expense end 2013 to change the clutch, it seems we want some to have abandoned for a year – how it's not good for mechanics ? 🙄 – and shows him falling out of fuel during a mountain walk. Small boon in our bad luck he stops beside the car park of the village of Gourdon, It gets worse as a place to get stranded !

The hands dirty for two days with the help of different people – thank you ! – we determine that this may be the injection pump. No choice, must be towed at our expense – 230€ – as for the insurance we are less than fifty kilometers from our official address. The biggest company in the region is DCAT – 0493298787 – efficient and fast since the tug arrived faster than expected, very nice, nous discutons de voyages pendant qu’il nous redescend à Cannes Electro Diesel, garage de Mougins spécialisé entre autre dans les pompes à injection.

Mais celui-ci n’a pas dit son dernier mot, after a tour in the mountains this time victorious, a new sound emerged braking… Almost a classic problem, these are just the brake pads to change. Back to La Roquette to get, and a scouring the refrigerator circuit.

So yes it is old, yes it is difficult to find some pieces, yes its appearance was sad face, but not more than € 3,000 expenses – engine oil to the clutch through the wiper blades – in six years for a vehicle years 80 and 50 000 km covered, we find it not bad at all !

    See you soon
  6. Good evening,
    This is!
    Bonne soirée
    Gilles
  7. : l’information vient quelques mois après notre panne (le voyant n’est pas revenu) but it is far from useless. A big thank you for that clarification Gilles ! I would transmit to my half and we carefully keep your explanations in case the indicator will rekindle.
  8. Hello,

    exhaust manifold

Et sur Transit Center (Polish company that sells used parts), typing collector in the search bar I have these results :
    collecteurs

We have in the past ordered some parts on both sites without any problem but we do not undertake to much for them.
You may also bring you a Ford dealer and breaks around your home.

Feel free to come back to us if we can still help, good luck, we know what it is !

  10. hello I just bought a MK2 transit 1982 Autostar motorhome cell and I have a small problem with,
    made in two…

the first regularly so it defuses 5 or 6 manual strokes and those distributed
so I think has an air intake in the filter has GO

and the second concern is that when it starts the manual pump is like suck it remains deep well sink the shot in slow worries but when it does it while driving and many stay on the low side, and I am forced to remove the pipe arriving GO on the famous pump .

have you ever had to kind of concern ?? otherwise I think disassemble my tank and change all my hose GO, To see . thank you in advance for your advice (my old ford called flash )because it is fast as lights.

  11. Hello ! Sorry for the response time, we approach the start of New Zealand and are a little busy. 😉

So if we understand your concerns and recalling that we are not professional, it seems that you ais somewhat the same problem that we had in this article, what the symptoms are slightly different.

Our Transit is almost as old as yours (1984) and as you read the this is a hose that had deteriorated forming a plug, preventing the automatic pump run correctly.

    Transit Center sells used parts

    Good hunt !

  16. Hello ! I also found a Transit camper mk2 of 1983, but I galley to find simple rooms of this model, as a radiator hose. You know for example if the minibus mk2 has the same parts, or if we can find on special sites ? thank you !

    Ludovic girard

  17. Hello , sorry for the response time but we are caught by the sedentary life right now ! Have you looked at the site Motomobil who remade parts for many models Transit ?

Thank you for your opinion what this article of June 2016 😉 ; in 2017 we had also left a comment describing the possible explanations LED.

  18. Hello, I have a pilot on carrier ford transit 1984 and I only provided in part motomobil Germany. They have everything we need; the price is very good; and deliveries are very fast .... Also they are very good advice .......
  19. Hello , delighted to have a return of another client Motomobil. Like you, we sometimes controlled parts home without ever having to worry.
  20. Hello Aupsois, I just got a touring motorhome from 1984 the engine runs well Thank you Ford but looking for parts to fit out or replace the interior If someone who knows this motorhome well and lives on the Aups coast, it is with pleasure to meet around an aperitif to explain all buttons everywhere ( camper van of a former backpacker ) you are welcome we can even have a barbecue Have a nice day everyone.
  21. “The” rescue

I've come across your site several times and each time I tell myself that I have to come forward
    and then time goes by.
    TNT has a blood brother.
    mine is called TAGAZOU.
just more of the same. ford transit diesel MK2 de 1983.
this year again we did 3000 bounds but I play with fire
I'm doing my best to keep him alive but this time it's beyond my skills.
my poor TAGAZOU is no longer waterproof. I have a major engine oil leak because my entire engine compartment is all black.
I am diagnosing the oil pump but I have no technical documentation or reference to change it.
    here is my pb
if anyone wants to start a discussion, I'll take it
    @+
    phil

  22. and : Many apologies for the delay in validating your comments ! Since our return from the southern hemisphere mi 2019, nous avons été pris par une vie sédentaire et nous n’avons pas pris le temps de terminer la publication des derniers articles ni de nous occuper des visiteurs. 🙁

Thank you for the links to the sites that direct to the spare parts.

  28. Hello

I have just bought a Ford Transit mk2 Camping Car from 82

    and here is my question

My mechanic tells me that I have to change the drums of my rear brakes because they rub or whatever, he asks me to find one in size 226mm , but on the internet I only find size 228mm, my mechanic tells me it's too much ?

I do not understand how taking smaller (of 226mm) this will solve the problem if it rubs at 228mm ? Also where can I find this type of part? ? I am new to mechanics can someone help me !
What size are your rear brake drums on your Mk2? ? thank you

  29. Hello

, you should be able download on this page a manual on the engine of the Ford Transit from 1978 to 1986, I don't know if it will be useful to you.
The first engine image appears to show an older engine but during repairs, it was found that all the parts, dimensions, etc.. were identical.

without having all the information it is difficult to help you.
Hypothesis : the friction could be due to the brake cylinders of the shoes not returning to their place when you release the brake and therefore rubbing the drums. If that's so, then it would be the cylinders that would have to be changed, as well as the jaws if they have been damaged, the drums can be cleaned by sanding them with a grinder.

As for the parts : there is Motomobil and Transit Center ; but actually it seems to be 228mm on an MK2 (the other size is 254). Maybe get a second opinion ?
Another possibility comes to mind, is that the rear axle is not the original one, which would explain the size differences ?

  30. Thank you very much for the link, It looks very complete and I hope it will be useful for the future.

Thanks again for the quick response and keep up the good work

  31. backpacker programmer Thank you very much for your help and your answer !
From what I understand the drums of my rear brakes wear out because surely the pistons do not return well to their position ! I bought this morning 2 new drums thanks to your sites ! thank you for your links ! I also asked my mechanic to change my pistons while we're at it. ! I'll keep you informed , but i don't want to bother you anymore !

Where are you currently ? In which country ?

I am a videographer vlogger on youtube and it will be a pleasure to meet you

  32. Hello,
  33. With pleasure (réponse moins rapide cette fois-ci 😀 )

Super !
